IP Pathways will discuss these challenges in this session. 5
Data Center 2.0 IT Most IT organizations entered the world of virtualization between 2007 and 2009; we call this data center 1.0. Many organizations started with server virtualization and loved the benefits. The way in which we architect, deploy and manage our data centers was forever changed and most would say for the better. In the first implementation of virtualization, underutilized servers were consolidated so IT organizations shrunk the physical footprint of the data center, lowered environmental costs and increased reliability. New hardware and software capabilities allow for the next generation data center to be further virtualized; we call this data center 2.0. In data center 2.0 we see Tier 1 applications being virtualized and the data center further consolidated. IP Pathways will discuss data center 2.0 and how attendees can further embrace consolidation and virtualization. 5
Taming The Storage Monster IT In recent surveys, a great number of CIOs listed the exponential growth of data storage as one of their top concerns for 2012. Gone of they days of dumb disk with no features. Today's leaders in storage need to provide advanced features to reduce cost and complexity. Storage efficiency is key in 2012. The storage array is the heart of the virtualized infrastructure and it must be efficient, scalable, flexible and must enable data protection and replication. Data is growing at exponential rates so managing that growth and keeping the long term costs of storage down are keys to many in IT. This session will discuss methods such as storage virtualization, dedupliction, thin replication and overall storage efficiency so that we all can make better and more informned storage decisions. 4
